This Privacy Policy explains what information the Powered by Women app collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. It describes how the app works and applies whenever you use it.

1.  What we collect

1.1  What you give us when you join

Data Required Why
Name Yes Identifies you to other members
Email address Yes Sign-in and account recovery
Password Only for password sign-in Sign-in. Stored only as a hash on our servers, never in the app
Job title No Shown on your profile and business card
Business name No Shown on your profile and business card
City No Used to find members and events near you
Phone number No Shown on your business card if you add one
Profile photo No Shown on your profile, business card, and messages

You can sign in with your email and a password, with Google, or with Apple. When you sign in with Google or Apple, that provider confirms your identity and shares your name and email address with us. If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email, in which case Apple provides a private relay address that forwards messages to you.

1.2  Matching information

As you use the app, we ask you questions to help you build out your profile. This starts at onboarding and continues over time, and you can review and update your answers whenever you like. We use your profile answers, together with your activity in the app, to suggest members you might want to connect with. That activity includes the businesses you list, the events you sign up for, the groups you join, the members you connect and message with, and the outcomes you log about your connections and referrals.

1.3  What you create in the app

The app also stores what you create in it: messages, group posts, comments and replies, questions and replies on the ask board, event RSVPs, photos, links, files you upload or share, private notes about members you have met, and the outcomes you record about a connection. Your private notes and outcomes are visible only to you.

If you report content or another member, we store the report, the reported content or account, the reason you selected, any details you provide, and the actions we take. We use this information to investigate the report, protect members, and enforce our Terms and community rules.

If you block another member, we store the identifiers of both accounts and the time of the block. We use that record to separate the accounts, remove their connection and pending connection requests, hide each member from the other in relevant areas, and prevent new one-to-one conversations and messages. Existing conversation history is retained, and members may still encounter each other's content in a shared group conversation.

1.4  Location

The app uses the city you choose. It does not request location permission or read your device's GPS. When you choose a city, we look it up and store its name and approximate coordinates so we can show you members and events near it. These coordinates describe the city you selected, and they update when you change your city.

1.5  Subscription and payment

When you subscribe to a paid membership, we receive your subscription status, which tells us whether it is active, which plan you have, and when it renews. We use this to give you the right access. Apple or Google processes membership purchases made inside the app, and Stripe processes membership purchases made on our website. Stripe also processes payments for tickets to real-world events offered through the app. Your full card details go to the payment provider, not to us.

We use RevenueCat to manage your membership and keep its status in sync across your devices. RevenueCat receives an internal user identifier and may also receive your email address, display name, purchase identifiers, subscription status, and entitlement information.

1.6  Analytics and diagnostics

We use Sentry to diagnose crashes and errors, measure performance, trace requests, and understand the app activity leading to a problem. Sentry may receive error and stack-trace details, app and device information, navigation and interaction events, request metadata, performance traces, and session-replay data. Session replays mask all text, images, and vector graphics by default. We do not configure Sentry to send a user identifier or default personally identifiable information.

We do not use advertising or ad-tracking in the app, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising.

2.  Device permissions

3.  What you share, and who sees your information

Powered by Women is a community platform, so some of what you add is meant to be shared with other members. You decide what to share and what to keep to yourself, and you can change it at any time in your profile and settings.

What other members see

Other members can see your profile, which shows your name, photo, title, business, and city, along with anything you choose to post or send, such as your group posts, comments and replies, your questions and replies on the ask board, and the files and messages you share with them. They never see your email address, phone number, private notes, or recorded outcomes, unless you choose to add them to your business card.

Authorized members of our team may access reported content and related account or communication information when needed to handle reports, protect members, or enforce our Terms and community rules.

Service providers who help us run the app

We work with a small number of providers to operate the app. Each receives the information it needs for its role and handles it under its own privacy policy and its contract with us. We require providers that receive app user data to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable requirements.

Recipient What they receive Why
Laravel Cloud Account data and content needed to operate the service Runs our servers and database
RevenueCat Internal user identifier, email and display name when configured, purchase identifiers, subscription status, and entitlement information Manages your membership across devices
Stripe Payment, contact, and transaction information for website memberships and real-world event tickets Processes those payments; Stripe holds full card details, not us
Mapbox The city text you type while searching and related technical request information Turns what you type into a place
Google Your name and email, if you sign in with Google Confirms your identity and signs you in
Apple Your name and email, or a private relay address if you hide it, when you sign in with Apple Confirms your identity and signs you in
Expo (EAS) Device, app, build, update, request, and related technical information Builds and delivers app updates
Sentry Diagnostic, performance, technical, interaction, and session-replay information according to the configuration described above Helps us diagnose errors and improve reliability

Purchases made through Apple or Google are processed under their terms, and they hold your payment details, not us.

We may also share information where the law requires it, or where we need to protect the safety of our members.

4.  How your data is protected

Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Your sign-in token is stored in the device's secure storage, which is the Keychain on iOS and the equivalent keystore on Android, rather than in ordinary app storage. Your password is not stored on the device. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5.  How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, matching answers, connections, posts, comments, questions, replies, messages, uploaded photos and files, private notes, and recorded outcomes from our active systems, except for information we must keep for a legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, or dispute purpose. Any information kept for one of those reasons is limited to that purpose and kept only as long as necessary.

We remove deleted information from our backups within 30 days. Until then, deleted information in a backup is isolated from ordinary use.

We keep purchase and payment records for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and payment laws. We keep safety reports, related enforcement records, and diagnostic information only for as long as reasonably necessary for safety, security, support, legal compliance, and resolving disputes.

6.  Your rights

You can view and change your name, photo, title, business, city, phone number, and matching answers at any time in Settings > Profile and Settings > Matching answers.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Account. Deleting your account removes your data as described in “How long we keep it” above.

Deleting your Powered by Women account does not automatically cancel a subscription handled by Apple, Google, or Stripe. The app will explain how to cancel an active subscription before you confirm deletion, without preventing you from deleting the account immediately.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your information, such as the right to a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, or to opt out of its sale. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@poweredbywomen.com.

7.  Children

Powered by Women is for adults in business. You must be at least 18 to use it, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

8.  Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell members in the app.

9.  Contact

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or how we handle your information, please contact us.
